ANDARA Gallery at Sandbanks Winery
ANDARA Gallery is the exclusive curator and provider of fine art paintings and photography at Sandbanks Estate Winery. Visitors to the boutique can wander and take in the sights, and purchase from an exciting range of fine art paintings and photography available in the Wine Boutique.
The Gallery is open to visit during the boutique's opening hours, 7 days a week from 11am-5pm.
About the Artists:
TARA WILKINSON
Photographer, Digital Artist, Creatrice
Tara Wilkinson is an award-winning Canadian fine art photographer and digital artist. Through her work, she explores themes of joy, spirituality, nature and human nature. She is also co-owner of ANDARA Galllery in the heart of Prince Edward County. Born in Toronto, ON, Tara has travelled extensively, photographing in over 25 countries. From behind the lens, Tara captures the details hidden from most. Her soulful images take the viewer on a visual journey.
Tara studied photography at Centennial College, Ryerson University and Fleming College's Haliburton School of the Arts, where she also graduated with a diploma in Expressive Arts.
Tara earned a diploma in Corporate Communications from Centennial College in Toronto.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto. Her latest exhibition "Headwaters" is on now at ANDARA Gallery (54 Wilson Road, north of County Rd. #1, just off of Hwy 62). Tara’s photographs are held in private collections around the world. Her framed prints, books, posters and greeting cards are available through ANDARA Gallery. Her images have been juried into local, regional, national and international shows and have won numerous awards.
In early 2023, Tara and her husband, artist Andrew Csafordi, were named winners of the Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for their Contribution to the Arts in Prince Edward County. In 2021, ANDARA Gallery won a "Travellers Choice Award" and was named among the top 10 percent of attractions worldwide by TripAdvisor. ANDARA Gallery has also consistently earned 5-Star reviews from visitors on Google and TripAdvisor. In 2015, Tara & Andrew were recognized by the PEC Arts Council for their outstanding contribution to the arts.
ANDREW CSAFORDI
Encaustic Sculptural Painter
Born in Bowmanville, Ontario, Andrew Csafordi (AOCA) is a Canadian visual artist whose contemporary paintings explore themes of life below the surface, roots that ground the world above and fences that create real and imagined boundaries. He is also Co-Owner of ANDARA Gallery in the heart of Prince Edward County.
Andrew is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art in Toronto where he majored in drawing & painting, communication and design. He is a master of the ancient technique of encaustic painting – using pure melted beeswax and demar resin mixed with dried pigments or oils. Andrew then applies rich layers of imagination, as well as materials such as wood, metal or fibre to his impressionist painting style. Creating textured paintings that call out to be touched, Andrew’s contemporary work invites the viewer to become explorers within his luminous compositions.
Csafordi has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Andrew's art is held in both corporate and private collections.
